Many factors affect the visibility of your website in the Search Engines’ organic results. Here are five successful SEO steps that you need to know and practice when writing your next amazing blog post.

The type I used in this post is List Type. It’s a proven way to attract social share and increase the click-through rate. Because it triggers the curiosity in your audience.

But be careful, you have to use it wisely. You have to give the audience what you promised in your headline. If not it will increase the bounce rate and gives the impression that you are spam.

Headline Structure

Awesome headlines consist of powerful and emotional words. You also have to include Keywords in the headline. Try to be concise and simple because many users scam the headline and just read the very first and last three words.

2- Write the meta description

Meta description text will be displayed under the headline in the search result. Google mentioned that it is not an SEO Ranking factor.

However, meta description is still important from a UX point of view. Because having a good meta description will increase the click-through and encourage users to check your content.

3- Choose the right font size

The font size is another important UX factor that increases the traffic for your page. You have to make sure that your font size is readable in all major browsers.

4- Enrich the content by adding images and videos

Images, videos, info-graphics, and many other media types have a great boost for your content. It helps you to express your ideas, increase the time on page and obviously decrease the bounce rate.

But more media files will amplify your page size and increase the load time which is a very important SEO factor. If you are technical you can optimize it by different caching techniques like CDN and others.

5- Use the rich snippet

A rich snippet is a block of code that you have to include in your page so that Google’s crawlers will understand your page content better and improve its appearance in the search result accordingly.

If you are using WordPress, there are many plugins that generate the rich snippet for each blog post. Then you can verify your page by using the
Structured Data Testing Tool from Google.

For me, I have created a Rich Snippet Generator that helps me generate the JSOD-LD code for my post. Then I need to embed the code in the <header> tag of my page. In WordPress, Embed Code plugin supports adding custom code for page or post.
